I do not share your personal data with anyone unless there is a good reason to do so. For scoring and analysis of dyslexia assessments, there is an online scoring system for some of the diagnostic assessments (including the screener assessment), which has strict policies in place to keep your information safe. A copy of their privacy policy can be found here: https://platform.wpspublish.com/Home/PrivacyPolicy. They do not share your personal information with any third parties who are unaffiliated with WPS or its services. However, I will not include any names/school details in this online system to keep your information confidential. The information entered will be the date of birth, age, school year, gender and scores from the necessary assessments. To reiterate, names and the school name will be anonymised.
Data Retention
Your personal data is collected for services and assessments. This information will be stored electronically and/or on paper. Electronic data is kept secure in a Google Drive or OneDrive account. Any files which contain sensitive information, such as diagnostic assessment reports, are password protected. Emails are used to transfer data. If sharing any sensitive/highly confidential information, documents will be password protected. All paper documents are stored in a locked filing cabinet.
Following a dyslexia assessment, all client questionnaires, raw data test sheets and all other personal data will be permanently deleted/destroyed after 6 weeks. Your final diagnostic report will be kept securely for the period I am required to retain this information by applicable UK law (currently 6 years after an individual’s 18th birthday or 6 years for an adult). During this time, you will be able to ask for an electronic copy of the report. It is recommended that you keep a copy of your report securely because after this time you will not be able to be supplied with a copy of your report.
We will keep a list of people interested in assessments or requiring tuition for a period of two years. Records are kept of those who have received tuition, lesson notes and copies of work completed in tuition sessions for 6 months after tuition has finished.
