Services
I provide literacy based diagnostic assessments conducted in accordance with current professional standards. Assessments include an initial telephone consultation, gathering of background information, the administration of a range standardised tests, a diagnostic report, and feedback on the findings and recommendations.
Booking and Payment
The payment of the assessment fee must be paid in full before the assessment.
Reports will be released only after full payment has been received.
Cancellations and Rescheduling
Assessments cancelled with at least 48 hours' notice may be rescheduled without any charge.
If a cancellation is made with less than 48 hours' notice, then a cancellation fee will occur. If there are exceptional circumstances, these will be taken into consideration.
Assessment Process
The process begins with an initial telephone consultation where we will discuss the reasons for an assessment. A visual questionnaire and a background information questionnaire will need to be completed by parents/carers. A questionnaire will also be sent to the school/college/university/workplace employer (if applicable) to gather further information. The assessment will be completed within the school or home environment, and the process usually takes three hours to complete. A report will then be compiled, and the outcome of the assessment will be discussed over the phone.
Assessment reports will be completed within 4 weeks of the assessment.
Please note: an eye test within the last two years is required before an assessment takes place.
Confidentiality
All personal information and assessment results are handled confidentially and in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act. Information and reports will only be shared with written consent unless there is a safeguarding concern or legal obligation.
Reports and Diagnostic Decisions
Assessment reports must not be altered in any way.
Please note that a dyslexia assessment does not guarantee a diagnosis of dyslexia. The diagnostic outcome will be based on background information, test performance and qualitative information gathered during the assessment process.
